ACDA started working in Microfinance sector by offering loans to the families of children with special needs, then it expanded its scope of work to include polio-infected adults, breadwinners women, fresh graduates, then it includes any member in the community needs to increase his income in order to achieve economic security for community members.

In 1994, ACDA obtained a grant from the Canadian International Development Agency as revolving loans for children with special needs and their families in order to help them with the disability-related problems. Furthermore, in 1995, it received a loan from the Social Fund for Development for the Mothers of Children in Community Schools, in order to encourage them to enroll their daughters to education.

ACDA has noticed the importance of providing micro-loans as an alternative to jobs, which create job opportunities and improve individuals ’incomes, So it established the microcredit sector in cooperation with the Egyptian Swiss Fund in 2000.

Then it received a loan from Social Fund for Development for lending projects’ owners or individuals who will establish new projects.

Since then, ACDA adapted the economic programs and obtained another project from Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, in order to contribute to creating job opportunities for young “unemployed” graduates and owners of small projects.

 

Again, ACDA recieved another loan from the Social Fund for Development, besides Prof. Galal Edin Zaki Saeid, founder of ACDA, donated an amount for establishing a Microfinance that offers soft loans help the needy groups.

Achievements

  • The Microfinance program could achieve great success in the field of community development by raising the economic level of families.

  • One of the clients and a loan-specialist received an international award from the United Nations.

  • In 2015, ACDA obtained a license to practice the activity from the Financial Supervisory Authority with No. 1424, Class B

  • ACDA became a member of the Egyptian Federation for Microfinance with No. 45 / Associations – 2015

  • ACDA participated in establishing a network for financial and non-financial services providers in the Assuit.
